The Supreme Court Appellate Division scrapped a writ petition of admission seekers that challenged the High Court order favouring decision of Dhaka University authorities not to allow students to appear in intake tests for the second time.

Dhaka University lawyer AFM Mezbah Uddin on Monday confirmed the news to Prothom Alo.

The High Court on 8 July dismissed a writ petition of students challenging the decision of the Dhaka University authorities not to allow the admission seekers to appear in intake tests for honous courses for the second time.

Lawyer Subrata Chowdhury represented the petitioners while DU lawyer Mezbah Uddin attended the hearing for the university.

Acording to the previous rules, the admission seekers got chance to appear in the admission test for twice.

The DU authorities cancelled the opportunity for appearing in admission tests for the second time, saying that only students who would pass HSC this year will be eligible to appear in the entrance tests for the 2015-16 academic year of the university.
