231 persons to be appointed as assistant teachers

The high Court on Sunday directed authorities concerned to appoint 231 persons as assistant teacher in recently nationalised primary schools.

These 231 persons passed the written and viva of teachers’ recruitment Test for registered primary school.

A bench of Judge Mamunur Rahman and Judge Sahidul Karim passed the order on Sunday.

On 8 December 2014, Abdul Wahab of Rajshahi filed a writ petition with the High Court on behalf of 231 persons who were not appointed even after they passed the recruitment test.

A High Court bench issued a rule on 9 December asking the authorities concerned to appoint those 231 persons.

The court on Sunday, after final hearing on the rule passed the order to appoint them in their own districts.

Primary and Mass Education Ministry issued a circular in 2010 to appoint 42,000 teachers in registered primary schools.

But the recruitment procedure was not duly followed and the writ petition was filed in this regard.
