First verdict of 1996 share share price manipulation
Two directors of a listed company on stock exchange , Chick Textile, have been sentenced to 4-year imprisonment for share price manipulation
The convicts, the company’s managing director Mohammad Maqsudur Rasul and director Iftekhar Mohammad, were also fined Tk 30 lakh each, in default to serve another six months in jail.
Special tribunal's judge Humayun Kabir, which is formed to settle capital market related cases, handed down the verdict in absence of the convicts on Monday.
