Chittagong rail link with Dhaka, Sylhet snapped
Train communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet has remained suspended following derailment of a freight train in Akhaura railway junction on Thursday morning.
Local sources said wheels of three bogies of a Dhaka-bound freight train from Chittagong veered off the track around 10:20 am, halting train movement on the Chittagong-Dhaka and Chittagong-Sylhet routes.
A relief train from Akhaura reached the spot and started salvage.
