UNDP announces online consultations

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Dhaka office, launched an online platform on Sunday to incorporate contributions from Bangladeshi citizens in shaping the organisation’s country programme document for the next five years.

The platform is www.myundpvision-bd.org, said the UNDP in a press release.
As part of its preparations for the next UN development assistance framework for Bangladesh (2017-2021), the UNDP has embarked on the process of formulating its new country programme.

It will outline the strategic objectives for tnhe UNDP Bangladesh over the period 2017 to 2021.

The online platform complements the series of in-person consultations that the UNDP is undertaking with development partners in Bangladesh, including representatives of the government, bilateral and multilateral representations, civil society, and community representatives.

A series of thematic discussions on strategic priority areas such as sustainable development pathways, inclusive and effective democratic governance and resilience building will be held over the coming weeks.

Cross-cutting issues such as gender and women’s empowerment, youth participation, and south to south cooperation will be integrated into the thematic consultations.

Comments and opinions can be posted both in English and Bangla. Up to 10 of the top contributors will be invited to the UNDP office for a face-to-face group discussion with the country director Ms Pauline Tamesis.

Contributors can use available social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or Google + account to make comments.

The UNDP encourages citizens to join the conversation and invite friends and colleagues to provide insights by using the hashtag: #myUNDPVISION #Bangladesh.
