Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali body arrives Dhaka tonight

The body of Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, who died yesterday morning in a Singapore hospital, arrives at the Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport tonight, said a spokesman of the ministry. 'The body of the minister will arrive here by a flight of Singpore Airlines tonight and Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will receive the body," Maidul Islam, public relations officer of the ministry, told BSS this morning.

Later, the body will be brought to minister's official residence at 34 No Mintoo Road and then be kept at BIRDEM mortuary at night. On Wednesday, the body will be taken to the Dhaka Central Shaheed Minar at 8 am and be kept there for an hour for paying homage to the minister by people of all strata of life.

Subsequently, the body of Mohsin will be taken to the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Complex where a namaz-e-janza will be held. The President, the Prime Minister, Speaker, cabinet members, chief whip, whips and lawmakers will pay tribute to the late minister there. This freedom fighter will also be given a guard of honour there.

From there, the minister's body will be flown by a helicopter to Moulvibazar District Stadium and then taken to deceased's Dorjimahal's residence of the town.

The body will be kept on the Shaheed Minar of Moulvibazar Government High School premises from 2 pm to 4pm so that the people of all professions can pay their tribute to the leader. He will be laid to eternal rest at the graveyard adjacent to the shrine of Hazrat Syed Shah Mostafa Bogdadi (R)after Asr prayer.

Syed Mohsin died of cardiac arrest and some other health complications in Singapore at 8:59 am (BST) yesterday.
