‘The Jungle Book’

A wildlife chronicle that reminds most of us of our childhood, ‘The Jungle Book’, is all set for a reboot, or rather a beautiful animated retelling. While director Jon Favreau has made the movie a shade darker, Mowgli is back with his army of wild elephants and raging tigers.

The two-minute trailer of the movie begins with a female voice telling Mowgli, “What are you doing so deep in the jungle? Don’t you know what you are? I know what you are…” While newcomer Neil Sethi plays Mowgli, Scarlett Johannson’s is the female voice that warns Mowgli of the jungle. Journeying through the dark woods, Mowgli, then, fights his way for a survival and at last, makes peace with the wilderness.

The movie has other Hollywood stars too giving voice to the animated characters – Bill Murray to Baloo the bear, Ben Kingsley to Bagheera the panther, Idris Elba to villain Shere Khan, Christopher Walken to King Louie the orangutan, Lupita Nyong’o to Raksha and Giancarlo Esposito to Akela.
