 CSE down,DSE up at opening

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed positive trend while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw negative one in early hours of trading on Sunday.DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 10.14 points or 0.22 percent to 4,567.08 after the first 30 minutes of trade at 11:00am.

The two others indices also saw uptrend.The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, gained 7.39 points or 0.43 percent to 1,721.80.The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 4.74 points or 0.43 percent to reach 1,109.52 points.The DSE turnover stood at Tk 492 million at that time.Of the issues traded till then, 106 advanced, 55 declined and 32 remained unchanged.Shajibazar Power was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 188.36m changing hands till then followed by MJL BD, ACI Ltd, Lafarge Surma Cement and Summit Port Alliance.

On the other hand, the port city bourse – CSE – saw downward trend in early hour with its Selective Category Index – CSCX – losing 31.19 points to 8,404.50, also at 11:00am.
Of the issues traded till then, 30 gained, 41 declined and 7 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 26m.
