BSF shot and killed a Bangladeshi at Noagaon

A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot to death by Border Security Force (BSF) of India near Bangladesh-India border at South Patari village of Shapahar upazila early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ziaur Rahman, 35, son of Motiur Rahman of the village.

Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion-14, said a patrol team of BSF’s Rangamati camp opened fire at a group of cattle traders, numbering 10-12, while they were entering Bangladesh from India past border pillar-242 at the village around 5am, leaving Ziaur dead on the spot.

Other associates of Ziaur managed to flee the area, he added.
