 Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor condoles of Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed deep shock at the death of former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.


In a message of condolence, he said the highest civilian award 'Bharatratna' recipient Dr Kalam was not only a scientist but also a successful statesman.

The vice-chancellor said Abdul Kalam had visited Bangladesh more than once and also delivered important lecture before Dhaka University teachers and students.

His contributions to statesmanship and science will be ever remembered, Prof Arefin added.

He conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Dr Abdul Kalam passed away after he collapsed during the lecture in the Indian Institute of Management at around 6:30 pm in Shillong at the age of 84.
