HC ordered to stop unfit vehicles
The High Court on Monday ordered the concerned authorities to stop the unfit vehicles from plying the roads.
A joint bench of justice Kazi Reza ul Haque and justice Abu Taher M Saifur Rahman gave the suo moto order.
Deputy attorney general Tapash Kumar Biswas said the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) chairman has been directed to take action against the unfit vehicles. The court also asked the authorities to seize the 19 lakh fake licences and to take legal action against the fraud drivers.
The court also asked the BRTA chairman to file a progress report on the order within a month.
