HP announces new services for Windows 10

With Windows 10 now being rolled out in stages to users who have reserved for the upgrade, HP announced new enterprise services designed to help enterprise users switch seamlessly to new Operating System without leveraging huge cost. HP’s new services include HP Test Drive Services for Windows 10 which allows enterprise customers to test the new Operating System with a controlled group of users in order to evaluate the user experience, capabilities and most importantly the program incompatibilities ahead of a wholesale migration.


Under this program, the select set of users would migrate to a new device running Windows 10 as their primary workplace device. HP will be offering PC or tablet hardware with Windows 10 pre-installed to enterprise users under this program with transformation software that will migrate user data, user settings and get experience redesigned core Windows apps. HP Transformation Services for Windows 10 includes full suite of services that will help in design and deployment of Windows 10 as a digital workplace transformation. The service will transform client and web

applications for the new environment, build operating system images and manage the rollout. HP has also announced a Roadmap Service for Windows 10 which acts as an advisory tool to deliver a base roadmap for Windows 10 implementation in productivity, security and thus improve manageability. HP WebApp Accelerator Service for Internet Explorer 11 is a service that will help enterprise implement and migrate their critical web applications built for Internet Explorer function effectively with latest Operating System.

“IT & developers get to validate the application portfolio in advance – lowering the cost & risk of a large scale migration, and the user sees innovation and a more personal computing experience,” said Marshal Correia, vice president & general manager, Enterprise Services, HP India. “The solutions and services HP has built on the Microsoft platform will help our joint customers take full advantage of the unique and innovative features of Microsoft Enterprise Cloud Suite including Windows 10, Office 365 and the Enterprise Mobility Suite,” said Susan Hauser, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise and Partner Group, Microsoft. HP Test Drive Service, Roadmap Service and WebApp Accelerator Service will be available now while HP Transformation Service will be available from October 1
