OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani now in Dhaka
OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani arrived here yesterday afternoon on a three-day official visit, as part of his tour to four member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
He is leading a six-member delegation on his second tour to Bangladesh, according to foreign ministry sources.
Madani will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning and meet Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali in the afternoon.
He is expected to visit International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b).
During the tour, he will brief the Bangladesh leaders on the programmes, initiatives, and cooperation agenda undertaken by OIC. He is also expected to exchange views on situation and issues relating to the Islamic Ummah, the sources added.
