‘Our Everyday Life’

Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced director Ines Tanovic’s family drama “Our Everyday Life” as the country’s entry in the foreign language film Oscar race. The announcement was published on the Association of Filmmakers of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s website, an organization that has been in charge of naming a local entry for Oscars from the last 15 years, said the Hollywood Reporter.

“Our Everyday Life”, focuses on relations between a father, mother and son, competed with Nenad Ðuric’s Hiljadarka (Thousand) and Cristobal Kruzen’s Sabina K, the association said. The film premiered this week in the competition section at Sarajevo Film Festival. It was produced by DOKUMENT and stars Jasna Ornela Beri, Emir Hadžihafizbegovic and Uliks Fehmiu. Bosnia and Herzegovina’s last Oscar success dates back to 2002, when Danis Tanovic’s “No Man’s Land” won a statuette in the best foreign language film category. Since then, no film from Bosnia and Herzegovina has been shortlisted.
