Bangladesh signs MoU with Mexico on  Foreign minister

Bangladesh has signed a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) with Mexico on Foreign Office Consultation for further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md. Shahriar Alam and Mexican Foreign Minister Jos, Antonio Meade Kuribre a signed the MoU at Mexican foreign ministry on Wednesday afternoon, according to a message received here today.

This agreement was signed on the eve of 40th anniversary of bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and Mexico.

After the signing ceremony, both the ministers discussed in details the entire gamut of bilateral relations in a cordial atmosphere when the both sides agreed to engage in intense dialogue through this agreement.

The first ever Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between Bangladesh and Mexico will take place in Dhaka.

Mexican Foreign Minister said that Mexico is aware of the need of opening their embassy in Bangladesh. He hoped to open the Mexican mission in Bangladesh at their earliest convenience.

Bangladesh State Minister invited the Mexican foreign minister to visit Bangladesh at his convenient time and the Mexican minister cordially accepted the invitation and expressed his interest to visit the country soon.

Earlier, in the morning, the state minister held fruitful discussions with the presidents and Director Generals of the leading apparel manufacturing companies of Mexico at a breakfast meeting including with Samuel Gershevich Salnicov, President of Textiles Associations of Mexico.

During the meetings, the Mexican entrepreneurs also expressed their
readiness to visit Bangladesh by this year to explore trade and investment opportunities.

They suggested Bangladeshi businessmen to participate two mega expositions, one is 'Intermoda Fair' and another is 'Puebla Fair', early next year to publicize their products.

Instead of holding a single country trade fair, they viewed that
participation of Bangladesh at this fair would be more effective in creating a market for its products and assured their all out support in this regard.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico Supradip Chakma, Director General
(Americas), Counsellor of Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico, and Director (state Minister's Office) accompanied the State Minister during the meetings.
