here was hardly much of a difference between the two deliveries. They were angled in from around-the-wicket by Rangana Herath, with the ball eventually reaching the right-hander’s pads, around his knees. And the respective responses of Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma were not too dissimilar either, with both flicking it to the deep square-leg fielder for a single.

But if Pujara looked like he was swatting a fly that had come troublingly close to him, Rohit seemed to be nonchalantly tapping it on its way.
