Petrol Bomb at 68th day of Hartal in Coxbazar

The 68th day of the countrywide indefinite transport blockade, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance, passed off amid stray incidents of violence on Saturday, reports UNB.

In the capital, two people—Sadia Afrin, 32, and Abu Hanif, 45 — suffered burn injuries as miscreants exploded a crude bomb in New Market area around 6:30pm.
They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), sources at the hospital said.
Police arrested seven leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir from different places of the city during a drive continuing for 24 hours till Saturday morning. In Cox’s Bazar, a passenger sustained burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack on a bus in Chakaria upazila on Saturday night.
Several passengers were also injured as the bus crashed into a roadside tree after the petrol bomb attack.
Officer-in-charge of Chakaria Police Station Pravash Chandra Nath said miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the Chittagong-bound bus of ‘Saudia Paribahan’ in front of Chakaria Degree College on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway around 7:30pm.
The driver lost control over the steering after the attack and the bus hit a roadside tree, leaving several other passengers injured.
In Munshiganj, a man who received burns after an explosion while making crude bombs at Khaskandi village in Sadar upazila on Thursday died at City Hospital in the capital around 6:30am.
The deceased was identified as Jewel, 25, a resident of the village. In Barguna, miscreants set a BRTC bus afire in front of Sonia Cinema Hall in Sadar upazila around 4am, said Riaz Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
