10 days remand..  gang raping two men

Police today sought a 10-day remand for two people arrested on charge of gang-raping a 21-year-old indigenous woman on May 21.

Rapid Action Battalion yesterday arrested Ashraf Khan alias Tushar, 35, and Jahidul Islam Lavlu, 26, who confessed to the heinous crime in primary interrogation.

Sajjad Hossain, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Bhatara Police Station produced the duo before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey and sought the remand.

The magistrate is expected to hear the petition later in the day.

The indigenous woman was raped in a running microbus in the capital on May 21.

The rapists lured her into the trap with an offer of a better job, claimed the Rapid Action Battalion.

A case was filed with Bhatara Police Station on Friday, where the victim mentioned that five people had "gang-raped" her for over an hour that night.
