For the death penalty Mojahid, a war criminals of Bangladesh. He was the leader of Banglades Jammat-e- Islami. For his death penalty Jammath Islami called a hartal wednesday.

Appalled by the Supreme Court verdict against war criminal Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, Jamaat-e-Islami has called a 24-hour hartal from tomorrow morning.

The shutdown will be enforced from 6:00am tomorrow, said a press release issued by the party after the Supreme Court upheld Mojaheed’s death penalty for his wartime offences.

Terming the war crimes case against Mojaheed “false”, the party demanded immediately release of their leader.

The Supreme Court today upheld the death penalty to war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed for killing intellectuals during Liberation War in 1971.

The apex court, however, commuted Mojaheed's death penalty to life term imprisonment for killing people in Bakchar area of Faridpur during the Liberation War in 1971.
