Wrapping up her six-day visit to the United Kingdom (UK), Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home on Thursday morning.

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage arrived at Osmani International Airport here in Sylhet at about 10.05am (BST).

Earlier, the VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage took off from Heathrow International Airport on Wednesday evening.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Md Abdul Hannan saw Sheikh Hasina off at the airport.

After making a one-hour stopover at the Osmani International Airport, it will fly for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

During her stay in the British capital, the Prime Minister was accorded a civic reception by the UK Chapter Awami League at the Park LaneHotel on 14 June.

She also joined a reception hosted by Chairman of All Party Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh Keith Vaz at the UK Chapter Office of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) in the British Parliament on 15 June.

Sheikh Hasina visited the British Parliament on 16 June and listened to the maiden speech of her niece and Labour Party MP Tulip Rezwana Siddique at the House of Commons.

She also met House of Lords Speaker Baroness D’ Souza on the same day.
