Sheikh Hasina says at Js "Govt. plans for restructuring city bus network"

The government is trying to reorganize the public transport system in the capital city to ease traffic congestion and ensure public safety.

Under the plan, the city would be divided into five zones and route network would be restructured to operate bus services under the management of different companies.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this in her written reply to a question from
treasury bench member Didarul Alam in the House today.

The Prime Minister highlighted the projects being implemented in the capital
and other major cities of the country saying the 13 projects under public and
private partnership are being implemented for development of road communications
of the capital city with other districts.

The route-restructuring plan would be finalized in consultation with the
stakeholders, she said.
