Cabinet  homage to Bangabandhu today

The Cabinet today expressed deep homage to the memory of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking the 40th National Mourning Day anniversary of martyrdom of the great leader on August 15, 1975.

Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain said the cabinet in its weekly meeting today at Bangladesh Secretariat adopted a resolution recalling the memory of the architect of the independence, the greatest Bangalee of all time and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The cabinet also paid homage to Begum Fazilatunesa Mujib, wife of Bangabandhu, three sons- Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Jamal and Sheikh Russell - and other family members and relatives who were brutally killed on that dreadful night.

The cabinet observed one-minute silence in their memory and prayed for eternal peace of their departed souls.

The cabinet expressed its firm conviction that the whole nation would turn the deep grief caused by Bangabandhu's murder into a strength and work together for building a 'Sonar Bangla' led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as dreamt by Bangabandhu.
